Just like most guys, I am passionate about sports, particularly football. In my late teens, I signed up with the KL Under 21 State Team and trained regularly with my peers.
All my life, I wasn’t really bothered with how much I weighed or how I looked. In fact, I tired fast of friends who fussed over their own weight and appearance, and constantly reminded myself that I could do more with my time than worry about the way I looked.
I’ve been overweight most of my life, and my lifestyle was to blame. I never watched what I ate – my food intake included a lot of fatty, oily and rich foods (which also didn’t help my health) – and I never exercised.
I never thought I would someday be considered overweight. For years, I weighed 50 kilograms, and all the while, I assumed I was doing well maintaining this weight. I
I never used to be overweight, but once I entered my teens, I started gaining more weight than I should have. I did not have a healthy diet; I would skip breakfast and rarely have lunch, and instead, I would snack throughout the day.
I can’t really remember a time when I wasn’t overweight. My entire childhood was spent being "the fat kid" in class, the one whom everyone teased and no one wanted on their team during Physical Education classes and other games.
