My teeth are very yellow, and despite numerous teeth whitening sessions, there doesn’t seem to be much improvement. Is there a way to obtain a set of pearly whites that are long lasting?
What is the difference between a normal dentist and cosmetic dentist? Are there any extra qualifications cosmetic dentists possess that can help the public identify their profession better? This is because most dentists I come across claim to do cosmetic work as well.

I would like to undergo laser whitening treatment for my yellowish teeth. However, one of my front teeth is darker in colour as the nerves are dead in that tooth. I have seen a dentist in the past about whitening my teeth, but the dentist said that the laser whitening will not lighten the darker tooth. If that is the case, how do I address this problem? Should I have a crown fitted before or after my whitening? Also, how much do teeth whitening and crowns cost?

I am missing several teeth and have a removable partial denture to substitute these. My dentist’s advice is to get a bridge done, but I know that this involves grinding down my original teeth on both ends of the bridge. Is there another option for this problem?

I’m in my late 50s and have been wearing dentures for about 30 years after losing all my teeth. Lately, I have been having problems with my lower denture.
I have straight teeth, but my two front teeth are exceptionally long. What can I do to correct this?

I have spaces in my teeth, which I would like closed. I was told that the spaces can be ‘filled’. Is this a good option or should I have this corrected orthodontically?

One of my upper permanent teeth (the cuspid) is overlapping two other teeth (the first and second bicuspid). My dentist doesn’t recommend braces because the upper teeth will have to be moved. Food bits tend to get trapped in this space and the gum bleeds often. I floss to remove food debris, but is this gum bleeding something to worry about?

I have noticed that my four front teeth (top and bottom) are getting a little shorter. What is causing this and what can I do to address the front teeth that are seemingly shorter?

The last dentist I visited told me that I should stop using a manual toothbrush and instead, purchase and use an electric one. He says with this, I will not brush my teeth too hard. What’s the difference between the two types of toothbrushes? I still brush my teeth (gently now) twice a day and floss after every meal. Is this just a gimmick to get me to spend more money?

I recently chipped my right front tooth slightly (on the left side). It’s minor, but I would like to get it fixed, but don’t want to get a veneer. Is it possible to have this fixed without extensive work?

I have two missing teeth on my upper set of teeth (the first two molars) and have been using dentures for the last 10 years. These dentures are troublesome, as I have to remove them each night before I go to bed. They’re also quite embarrassing! Is there a permanent solution for this? Are bridges permanent? Would implants be a better option for me?

My teeth are mostly OK, except for one tooth that is recessed deeper inside my mouth than the other teeth in my upper set. Food tends to get stuck there and even though I brush my teeth and try to keep it clean, food still gets stuck and makes smiling embarrassing at times. Can the tooth be realigned?

I recently had a porcelain crown with a metal core fitted on one of my front teeth. While it is not immediately obvious, the centre of the tooth in question looks slightly darker than the rest. Is there any way to hide this flaw?

My siblings and I are always told that we have a great set of teeth. When we were children, our parents would make sure they pulled out our deteriorating milk teeth in order to make way for the new ones. Did this contribute to our straight set of teeth or is it simply genetic? I have two young children and would like to know if this will be helpful in their case.
