Make Me Over: College Ball/Office Look

We give two readers a makeover – one for her first job and another for her college ball! We roped in Peek-A-Boo Hair Salon and RMK Cosmetics to help with hair and makeup.

College Ball

Christine Jasmine Ellis
23, Student

"I love what they’ve done to my eyes! It has a beautiful smoky effect. The colour blends well too. Overall, I look striking but not overly made-up. My hair looks lustrous and silky smooth – I really like it."

What Peek-A-Boo said about Christine:

For a prom night look, we curled her hair and tied it into a bun at the back, but allowed some hair to fall loose at both sides of her face. She is a young girl, and tying all her hair up in a tight bun will only make her older than she really is.

What RMK said about Christine:

Christine has lovely features. We gave her the smoky eyes for an alluring appeal. We used shiny metallic colours on the inner portion of her eyes and blended these colours with other colours to match her dress. Since the eye makeup is quite dramatic, we toned down the colour on the cheeks and lips, so that she doesn’t look too overdone. We used a light pink colour for her cheeks, a nude colour on her lips, and finished with a lip gloss for that extra shine!

What RMK used:

Face: Skin Tuner Smoother (RM155), Face Protector (RM100), Creamy Make Up Base 01 (RM120), Creamy Foundation 201 (RM170), Concealer 03R Pink Beige (RM70), Face Powder 01 (RM145), Eyebrow Mascara 01 Blonde (RM105), and Shiny Mix Cheeks 03 Orange Gold (RM98).

Eyes: Ingenious Eyes 01 Black (RM88), Ingenious Eyes 22 Light Purple (RM88), Metallic Powder Eyes 12 Shiny Silver (RM75), W. Mascara 01 (RM135), and Eyeliner 03 Black (RM88).

Lips: Irresistible Lips B 21 Natural Beige (RM90), and Gloss Lips 27 Shiny Silver Gold (RM78).

Office Look

Foo Lee Sha
23, Fresh Graduate

"I really like my eyes! The colours are striking and complement my skin tone. I’m very happy with the overall look – it’s very natural yet very attractive! My hair looks neat and not too flat. This is the ideal professional look that I was looking for!"

What Peek-A-Boo said about Lee Sha:

We gave Lee Sha a simple hairstyle that is neat and clean; a style that she will be able to do herself in 15 minutes before going to work.

What RMK said about Lee Sha:

Single eyelids tend to make eyes look puffy. To counter this, we used at least two different colours to open up the eyes. For Lee Sha, we used green on the whole eye, followed by black on the inner eyelid. We also applied some eyeliner on the lower eyelid and used mascara to make the eyes look bigger. We used liquid foundation on her face for a natural look, which is more suitable for the day. We used a warm beige colour on her cheeks, which goes well with the green on her eyes.

What RMK used:

Face: Skin Tuner Smoother (RM155), Sun Protector (RM100), Liquid Make Up Base (RM135), Liquid Foundation 103 (RM155), Concealer 02R Beige (RM70), Face Powder 02 (RM145), and Ingenious Cheeks 12 Coral Orange (RM85).

Eyes: Mix Color for Eyes 01 Shiny Green (RM135), Eyebrow Pencil 03 Gray Brown (RM88), W. Mascara 01 (RM135), and Eyeliner 03 Black (RM88).

Lips: Shiny Mix Lips 03 Silver Orange Beige (RM98).
