Hair removal

I am a 20-year-old Indian lady with lots of facial hair. I would like to seek permanent hair removal and was wondering which is the best treatment option for me? What will the procedure involve and are there any risks? Also, how much does a treatment like this cost and how many sessions will I require?
M.A.P.

Dear M.A.P.,
The best option for you is probably laser hair removal. We use long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser to remove unwanted facial hair for darker skinned individuals. You may require six to 12 laser treatment sessions at monthly intervals to experience complete hair removal. The cost of the treatment depends on the surface area to be treated; this usually ranges from RM300 to RM600 per session.

There may be a risk of hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin), hypopigmentation (lightening of skin) or scarring of treated areas if the laser treatment is not carried out properly.
